Here's the Bills news of note for June 26th.

1 - Peterman: Only self-discipline lasts
The Buffalo Bills are currently in a six-week period with no practices before they head to training camp in late July. Bills rookie quarterback, Nathan Peterman, recently appeared on the John Murphy Show to discuss how he will handle the time away from football.

With this being his first season as a professional player, his summer won't quite be the same.

"It's a lot different. But its something I've been excited about. Being a pro for the first time. I've always believed that the only real discipline that lasts is self-discipline," Peterman said. "That's kind of how I have always approached things. Even with my little off time in college.

"So, I'm excited for this month. I think it's important to have some reps and get back at it. I remember Lorenzo addressing the team before we left saying 'Hey, this is one of the most important times. Lets make sure everybody comes back being the best version of yourselves that you have been.' That's a goal of mine to do. To learn from the best and just to come back ready."

2 - BR: Zo continues to receive praise
Bleacher Report's Dour Farrar, recently posted an article ranking the most unblockable pass rushers in the NFL. It was not Jerry Hughes who made the list but, linebacker Lorenzo Alexander. The Bills linebacker has been a journeyman for most of his career before erupting last season with 12.5 sacks. The Pro Bowler is still earning recognition several months after the 2016 campaign ended. On Farrar's list, Alexander came in at No. 8 ahead of Falcons DE Vic Beasley and Cardinals OLB Markus Golden. Here is what Farrar had to say about the Bills pass rusher:

I detailed Alexander's three-sack game against the Rams last October inan NFL1000 scouting piece, and it showed just how versatile he had the potential to be. Yes, the Rams offensive line was horrid for the most part last season, but Alexander stood out nonetheless when you isolated his performance. Those three sacks came from three different points-from between the right guard and right tackle as a stand-up linebacker, on an overload blitz from the left edge and on a twist to fool the left tackle and left guard.

You'll see Alexander get rushes from a more traditional edge position with his hand on the ground, but he also has the ability to line up at middle linebacker depth and shoot gaps.

3 - PFF sees a Zay Jones opportunity
Bills rookie, Zay Jones, spent four years at East Carolina University where he set the FBS record for catches with 399 receptions. With the Bills, Jones is projected to start opposite Sammy Watkins and there will be plenty of opportunity.

Pro Football Focus recently took to their Twitter account with an infographic where they break down Zay Jones' targets during his senior season at ECU. Last year, Jones racked up the most targets with 216 according to PFF. This translated to 158 catches for 1,746 yards and eight touchdowns.

Opportunity is important for rookies to make an immediate impact and Jones will have to prove his worth in training camp in order to get more looks. He is in a good situation to take advantage of a potential starting spot.
