Buffalo adds to OL again with Newhouse
March 19, 2018 10:14 PM | Chris Brown

Not long after the Bills signed free agent C Russell Bodine to bolster their offensive interior, Buffalo added some experienced talent on the edge in the form of free agent OT Marshall Newhouse. Newhouse signed a one-year contract after he made a free agent visit to One Bills Drive on Monday.

Newhouse, 29, is an eight-year veteran who spent last season with Oakland serving as the team's starting right tackle where he made 14 starts. However, in the wake of their coaching change this offseason, he was released by the club on March 12th.

The previous two seasons (2015-2016) he played for the New York Giants, where again he was largely a starting right tackle.

During the 2014 season, Newhouse (6-4, 330) was a swing tackle for Cincinnati after playing his first four NFL seasons in Green Bay making 31 starts over that span.

All told, Newhouse has 70 starts in his NFL career. He is expected to push incumbent right tackle Jordan Mills for the starting job and at the very least serve as a swing tackle for the Bills in 2018.
