Top 10 reasons why the Bills will turn the tide in LA

10. Going back to Cali

For the second consecutive season, the Bills will make the flight out west to sunny Southern California. This year however, the team will take on AFC West opponent the Los Angeles Chargers. The game will mark the first meeting between the two clubs since 2014.

9. Coasts collide

We've seen it before. There's nothing like an East Coast meets West Coast matchup - especially for the Bills and Chargers, who have a storied history. Dating back to the AFL days, the Bills played their first game against the Chargers in LA in 1960. Taking care of business, the Bills came away with a 32-3 win. You know what they say, history repeats itself.

8. California love

For a few Bills players and coaches, the trip to La La land will signify a chance to get back to their roots. Bills tackle Conor McDermott played college ball at UCLA, while veteran cornerback Shareece Wright played for rival USC. Defensive backs coach Gill Byrd also has love for California, as he spent 10 seasons on the Chargers' roster.

7. A Golden State of mind

Although Buffalo's last two games did not yield the results the team was hoping for, the Bills are remaining focused and determined. In control of their postseason destiny, Buffalo is committed to doing what it takes to right the ship.

"You've got to go back and reestablish the standard and re-train the fundamentals, said Head Coach Sean McDermott. That's what we've done and we'll continue to do that."

6. Crank up the heat

Buffalo's defense will look to return to previous form this week. While winning the battle at the line of scrimmage, stopping the run and upping the pressure are top priorities for the unit, the Bills 'D' is confident that they can bounce back.

5. It's always Shady in Los Angeles

Running back LeSean McCoy and the Bills are looking to bring the shade with them when they square off with Los Angeles. Up against a Chargers defense that has struggled to defend the run, Shady has an opportunity to make some big plays with his legs.

4. Rookies making waves

Never mind what their NFL experience level says, Buffalo's rookies are making waves across the NFL. The newcomers have made sizeable contributions across all three phases of the game and have earned recognition for their efforts. From first-round cornerback Tre'Davious White, who is tied for the lead in passes defensed at 13 to linebacker Matt Milano, who has also proven valuable on defense, the rookie class is just getting started.

3. Peterman gets the call

Bills rookie quarterback Nate Peterman will make his first NFL start this Sunday on the road. With support from his teammates, the fifth-round pick out of Pittsburgh is eager to help lead the team to victory. With a win, Peterman will join the likes of former Bills signal callers Daryle Lamonica, Joe Ferguson and Trent Edwards as rookies who won their first road start.

2. Big game on the horizon for Benjamin?

Suiting up for the second time in a Bills uniform Week 11 against the Chargers, wide out Kelvin Benjamin is looking to have a day. His size, athleticism and ability to get open, make him an asset to Peterman and the Buffalo offense.

1. Turning the tide

The Bills are ready to turn the tide and get back on the winning track. Not only would a victory propel them in the right direction and boost their standings in the conference, it would give the team a 6-4 record for the first time since 2000. Time to circle the wagons.
